assault on arkham king shark

Assault On Arkham King Shark - What is it, haven't you heard this before? Maybe this DC Universe Original Movie adaptation of a non-existent comic book story. That's right, this is true 100% new and unseen, and what's even better is that it's based in the same universe as the Batman: Arkham Asylum video game series. The goal!

The story of Batman: Assault on Arkham follows: After a failed attempt to capture (or kill) the Riddler thanks to Batman's intervention, Government agent Amanda Waller is forced to assemble a strike team of Gotham's biggest villains: Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Killer Frost. Black Spider, King Shark, and Captain Boomerang. With many "off-the-book" government projects with an incredible lack of morals and ethics, Waller has no problem with each member of the Suicide Squad planting an explosive device. Failure to comply will result in immediate disqualification. And so, an anxious gang of supercriminals broke into Arkham Asylum. At the same time, the Dark Knight is also on a mission: to find and detonate a dirty bomb the Joker has hidden somewhere in Gotham, which, if detonated, could have devastating effects on the entire city.

Assault On Arkham King Shark

One thing that stood out to me about this movie was that it mostly went through the events of Suicide Squad, with only brief glimpses of the Bat here and there until the latter part of the movie. unless Batman can do it. After the events of the story, a great villain was on the horizon, and the villains left me wanting a successor, or at least not shaking their heads. When Batman walks into the death squad, I'm immediately reminded that I'm part of the hero and the bad guys take down the bad guys. Bad Jaden. Bad!

Batman: Assault On Arkham Review

It's now clear that Batman: Assault on Arkham is not a kid's movie, because it's probably the most violent and grown-up DC animated movie I've seen to date. When we are first introduced to King Shark, he is soaking in a bathroom full of blood while the naked corpses of his victims lie on the ceiling of his hotel room. Harley Quinn's introductory focus is just as harsh, as we see a psychotic clown with unwanted female baggage biting off a woman's ear. Hell, even the Dark Knight himself would deliver a bloody blow chin to chin before breaking another's arm. Wild things. If you think this is "adults only", I should inform you of the incredibly sexual tone of many of the film's dialogues. In fact, two members of the Suicide Squad are also doing hippy-dippy (no, I'll spoil it for you by telling you who. You'll just have to wait and see...).

Brutal violence is all well and good, but only if it's backed up by some action sequences, and luckily, Batman: Arkham Asylum delivers in spades. The opening sequence nicely foreshadows what's in store for the audience: an over-the-top fight sequence in which Batman uses his arsenal of gadgets and superior military skills against a small military force, with slick fight choreography perfectly complementing the liquid animation. Batarangs, through the sky, cunningly dodge and dodge enemy attacks, and even Batman's handgun connected to this impressive fight sequence. Words cannot describe how bat-tastic the fighting in this movie is, not to mention the slick, gritty style. The Dark Knight beats them all in this movie.

Of course, when it comes to the world of animation, great visuals can easily be undermined by voice acting. Unsurprisingly, that's not the case in Batman: Arkham Asylum , due to a rock solid cast of notch voice actors. Kevin Conroy (Batman: The Animated Series) reprises his role as Batman from the interlude games, and Nolan North (Uncharted) also returns briefly in a cameo as the Penguin. Although not previously cast in games, other actors worth noting were Neil McDonough (Minority Report), who gave a very enjoyable portrayal of the calm but calculating character Deadshot Hyndan Walch (Adventure Time). Harley Quinn and Matthew Gray Gubler (Criminal Minds), the proud and arrogant Riddler. Other cast members include John DiMaggio (Adventure Time), Greg Ellis (Pirates of the Caribbean), Giancarlo Esposito (Suspect) and Jennifer Hale (Mass Effect 3), who all play King Shark, Captain Boomerang, Captain Spider, and Black. He killed Frontinus, resp. Unfortunately, the brave Mark Hamill will not be voicing the clown this time, but luckily, the role is still brilliantly played by Troy Baker (The Last Of Us), who voiced the Clown Prince in Batman: Arkham Origins.

In summary, I loved Batman: Arkham Asylum: its journey of mostly bad guys, great action sequences, various sudden and unexpected deaths of several members of the Suicide Squad, all the conflicts between them. Arkham Asylum escapes and cops, this animated movie has everything I could ask for. Am I the only one complaining? Its working time is less than an hour! Granted, the pace of the story is right, if a short time was obtained from the filmmakers to make sure the viewer was never bored in this movie, I could totally deal with it.

Review: Batman: Assault On Arkham

At the end of the day, if you're a bat-fan, you should buy this movie. Also, if you're into movie infiltrations, prison breaks, fast-paced action, or less savory throws, Batman: Assault on Arkham will be right up your alley. More DC animations with original stories, I say!

Audio-visual multimedia extraordinaire (at least in his own mind) Aussie Dave Jayden has been drawn into this glorious cave of geek pop culture, and it takes more than you suggest to draw him. If you don't corrupt him by trading Ninja Turtles... then all bets are off.
