Pupils at Castleview Primary School celebrated their school dedication on Thursday, November 14, focusing on the qualities embodied in the school's four houses, valor, loyalty, wisdom and bravery. Student "leaders of houses" placed items in time capsules shaped like dragon eggs and welcomed guests wearing caps and tiaras. The school music group Dragon Scales sang and played drums. The students met Principal Julie Hilton, School Board President Theresa Jacobs, School Board Vice Chair Pam Gould and Superintendent Dr. Heard words to remember from Barbara Jenkins. Jacobs asked the students to sing "Happy Birthday" to the school district, which turns 150 this year. Gold told the students he was grateful for them and their beautiful new school, and Principal Jenkins presented Hilton with a golden key after the students promised to take care of their school, respect adults, and work hard through high school graduation and beyond.

Future Dragons and their families meet their new school for the first time during the Flash event.

On Thursday, July 25, students and families were welcomed to Castleview Elementary for the first time during a sneak peek of the school. The Windermere High drum line played outside the school and the football team dictated the parking lot. Inside, families had the opportunity to go on a tour around the school and meet some of the teachers. The incoming dragons are placed in various locations around the school to share fun facts and introduce their classmates to the new school.

Castleview Elementary Celebrates Dedication

Registration is now open for Castleview Elementary students interested in the school's new musical group, the Castleview Dragon Scales. Nodes for this group can be found on the Castleview_OCPS Facebook page.
