637 Class Submarine - Overview: The Sturgeon class (known collectively in naval circles as the 637 class) is a class of nuclear powered attack submarines (SSNs) in service with the United States Navy. From the 1960s to 2004 it was the "workhorse" of the naval attack fleet for most of the Cold War.
